Visiting Covington, GA has been on my bucket list for a while now. I first started watching the show back in 2013, and never thought I'd actually get the chance to visit the filming locations!

How much will it cost?

This all depends on if you fly, drive, how many days you choose to stay, which hotel/Airbnb you choose, etc. but I am here to help you if you are on a budget, like me! I have only taken weekend trips in which I've only stayed one night. I think 2-3 days would be perfect for a quick little getaway, and that would be plenty enough time to see everything. Hotels are most likely going to be a cheaper option, since most Airbnb's do have a lot of added on fees. I spent about $300 for everything when I stayed there for a day and a half. That includes, hotel, food, drinks, and a couple of souvenirs. I did not do the tour, I walked/drove around myself. (you can also rent a golf cart)

Flying Into Atlanta

Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport is the nearest airport to Covington.

Renting a Car

If you choose to fly, you will probably need a rental car. I would recommend using Kayak to reserve a car to get cheapest deal.

Where to Stay

Twelve Oaks Bed & Breakfast

One of the best places you can stay at in Covington is The Twelve Oaks Bed & Breakfast. (this was also used in the show during the 1864 flashbacks - it was the old Lockwood mansion) It is around $300+ to stay there a night. So it is a little pricier, but it is beautiful!

Hampton Inn

If you're looking for a cheaper option, I would suggest Hampton Inn for around $146 a night

La Quinta

La Quinta for around $130 a night, you can get a nice, clean room! I see a lot of people recommending this hotel on Facebook as an affordable option.

Holiday Inn

Holiday Inn for $140 a night - nice, clean, and affordable!

There are cheaper options such as Super 8 (it's nice and pretty clean, for around $99 a night) theses options are all close to the square as well.

Tours

Going around and seeing everything on your own is free. If you choose to do a tour, I recommend the "Mystic Falls Tour" through Vampire Stalkers to exclusive get access to locations. It's 2 hours long, and is $55 per person. You will even get access to the outside property of the Lockwood Mansion! http://www.mysticfallstours.com/

This has become one of my favorite towns to visit. There is just something about the vibes that bring so much comfort to my TVD loving heart! It truly is an experience, and I hope this helps planning your trip go smoothly, and stress free!
