I attended my first Vampire Diaries convention through Creation Entertainment in May, and had no clue what to expect. I am here to walk you through, and help you understand what to expect.

Buying tickets:

First things first, buy your tickets ASAP! They always have their gold packages available first, then silver and copper. Those include admission in to the convention for each day, great seating, and include autographs for everyone. (photo ops are still bought separate for package holders)

I did not purchase those packages, I waited for the general admission, and preferred day seating to go on sale, because it was a lot more affordable doing it that route, since I only attended Sunday. I did go ahead and purchase my photo ops prior to going on sale, because they sell out QUICK! **Be sure to buy the general admission tickets as soon as they go on sale if you have already purchased a photo op and or autograph, otherwise they will run out and you will be left with a photo op ticket and no ticket to get in to the event.

Photo Ops:

Photo ops are a must when attending a convention. Getting a picture with your favorite cast member is definitely a memory to last a life time! They are typically done first thing in the morning, and you will get about 30 seconds with the cast member. Unfortunately due to covid, they had plexiglass in place during photo ops, but it was still worth it. They are super strict about phones. You must have your phone in your bag and put on a table while waiting in line. Phones are completely prohibited in the photo op and autograph area.

Auctions/Panels:

Auctions typically take place first, and then the Q&A panels take run all afternoon accordingly to the schedule. You will have the opportunity to ask your favorite celeb a question! They have a screen by the stage that has which celeb is in photo ops currently, and the group #, so you will go for your photo op as as soon as you see your number on the screen.

Booths:

Be sure to check out all of the awesome booths they have set up! Ian's brother and sister in law always have a great booth where they sell homemade wooden autograph boards! They are the nicest people! The Alley store based out of Mystic Falls (Covington, GA) was also there with stuff they sell! I bought a Damon candle from there and it smells so good!

We got a picture with Ian’s brother and Ian’s sister in law!

Autographs:

Autographs are the very last thing to take place at the event. If you buy a photo op and autograph that means you get to interact with the celeb TWICE! I can not recommend purchasing the autograph enough!!! It was probably my favorite part of the whole experience. You get more time, and more interaction! I didn't get to touch Ian during my photo op, but he did give me a fist bump during the autograph. I had him sign our photo from the photo op, and the first thing he did was look at it and say "wow what a handsome couple" I was star struck. I told him I loved his bourbon, and he told me to tell all of my friends about it!
